Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist based in Brighton.
Helping young people to speak about feelings using the arts.
The Therapy
Little Nook Counselling offers an integrative counselling approach. This involves drawing on different neuroscientific and psychotherapeutic theory, to support the whole child with their mental, physical and emotional needs. The tools and techniques used are blended from a range of modalities to enable an individual approach that it bespoke to the child. The term integrative also refers to the process of integrating the personality; considering conscious and unconscious aspects of the self, and bringing awareness to how past relationships and experiences have shaped who we are today.
Little Nook Counselling supports young people who have experienced trauma, including developmental trauma.
Trauma is when we experience very stressful, frightening or distressing events that are difficult to cope with or out of our control. It could be one incident, or an ongoing event that happens over a long period of time. Developmental trauma is the term used to describe the impact of early, repeated trauma and loss which happens within the child's important relationships, and usually early in life.
